Mr. Anthony George Evans Sr.

EVANS, Mr. Anthony - Age 67, passed away Sunday, August 11, 2024, at Ada's Graceful Living. Family hour 1:30Pm Saturday, August 24, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pall bearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 PM Saturday. Mr. Evans will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Friday, with family present to receive friends from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM. Mr. Anthony George Evans Sr. was born November 4, 1956 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Louella and Ezell Evans Sr. Anthony was a resident of Flint, Michigan and attended Flint Northern High School. After completion of high school, Anthony served in the United States Army where he was Honorably Discharged. He was employed at Grand Blanc Metal Fab, a division of General Motors Corporation where he retired. Anthony was a member of UAW Local #1292. He loved playing cards, watching westerns and Netflix. Mr. Anthony George Evans Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Qwedra (Damarcus) Evans-Burke; grandchildren, Precious Harvey of Ellenwood, GA, Marquavis Jones Jr. and Damarcus Burke Jr., both of Flint; great-granddaughter, Bella Kelly; 7 sisters, Judith (Manuel) Cabine, Sadie Burks, Joyce Evans, Doris Evans, Barbara Kemp, all of Flint, Regina Evans-Hudson of Burton, MI and Arnita Evans of Mt. Morris, MI; brother, Tommie (Ann) Evans of Flint; aunt, Sadie Barr; a host of nieces and nephews; a host of cousins including special cousins, Earl Gibson and Sgt. Major Jimmie Gibson; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Evans was preceded in death by his son, Anthony Evans Jr.; parents, Louella and Ezell Evans Sr.; sisters, Pearlie Evans-Bush and Lillie Paxton; brothers, Ezell Evans Jr., Larry Evans, Timothy Evans and Brenson Evans; 4 aunts, Mattie Gibson, Mattie Evans, Bessie Collins and Lois Simpson; 3 uncles, Willie Gibson, James Gibson and John Henry Evans; special cousin, Willie J. Gibson; and special long-time companion, Essie McMillan. Mr. Evans was Honorably Discharged from the United States Army.
