Mr. Anthony Leroy Michael "Chubbs" Coleman

COLEMAN, Mr. Anthony Leroy Michael "Chubbs" - age 28, passed away Wednesday, September 3, 2014 at Karmanos Cancer Institute-Detroit, MI. Family hour 10 a.m. Tuesday, September 16, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with memorial service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. William M. Brown Jr. officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Tuesday. Mr. Coleman will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 11 a.m.-8 p.m. Monday. Mr. Anthony Leroy Michael Coleman was born on August 19, 1986 in Newark, New Jersey, the son of Anthony Slappy and Leslie Anne Coleman. Anthony was a student of Essex and Middlesex County Schools. Most know him as “Chubbs” from J.P. Stevens High School where he played football. Anthony graduated from Livingstone College of Salisbury, North Carolina. Anthony left a rich legacy serving in various capacities. Some of his accomplishments were serving on SGA Council, Football Manager, Resident Hall Assistant, Students In Free Enterprise (S.I.F.E.) president, Sigma Gamma Rho Mr. Rhomeo 2007-2008, one of the founders of Blue Bear TV. He was employed at Macy’s of Flint. Anthony was a minister serving at Foundation of Truth Parishioner SOTP Cleveland, OH as a Armor Beaver under Bishop Richard Williams, Grace Missionary Baptist Church. He loved singing and playing drums at church. He was very loving, caring and compassionate, but most of all he loved the Lord. Mr. Anthony Leroy Michael Coleman leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Seandra Davidson-Coleman of Burton, MI; god-children, Tia Vashaun Ward, Tia Jane Ward and Teaisha Nunn; step children, Ellexus and Jazmine Hicks and Shadamia Bradford, all of Burton, MI; grandchildren, Paitin Tyler of Burton, MI; parents, Leslie Coleman of Grand Blanc, MI and Anthony Slappy of Houston, TX; god parent, Regena (Willie) Palmer of Newark, New Jersey; grandparent, Lawrence Coleman Sr. of Fayetteville, NC; 2 sisters, Jocelyn (Bryan) Millender and Charnelle Coleman of Grand Blanc, MI; 2 brothers, Jon Coleman of Cleveland, OH and Matthew (Susan) Coward of Lakewood, WA; 2 nieces, Jae’den Archer of Flushing, MI and Bryana Ruth Millender of Grand Blanc, MI; 3 nephews, Chase Jones of Flushing, MI, Bryan Israel Millender, Jr. and Jae’lyn Caleb Millender of Grand Blanc, MI; 5 aunts, Stacey (Hermon) Murphy of Metuchen, NJ, Lauren (Nicolino) Parisi of Fayetteville, NC, favorite aunt, Lisa (Charles) Timmons of Perth Amboy, NJ and Sean Walker of Rocky Mount, NC and Jacqueline Slappy of New Jersey; 2 uncles, Lawrence (Pearl) Coleman, Jr. of Plainsfield, NJ and Mark (Rosaline) Coleman of Edison, NJ; mother and father-in-law, Theresa Gibbs of Flint and Charles Davidson of Gulfport, MS; sister-in-law, Johntionette Davidson (Courtney Jones) of Flushing, MI; 2 brothers-in-law, Phillip Gibbs and Alphonzo Wright of Flint; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including special aunt, Dedelisa; special friends, Josh Stead, Emmanuel Jones, Devin Tyler, Michael Jackson, Marvin Mays.
