Mr. Anthony Lee Brown

BROWN, Mr. Anthony Lee - Age 49, passed away Friday, February 22, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, March 2, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with memorial service commencing at 2 p.m. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. There will be no public viewing. Mr. Anthony Lee Brown was born on June 9, 1963 in Flint MI to the parents of Willie Ruth (Owens) Brown and Bennie Lee Brown. He transitioned peacefully from this life on Friday, February 22, 2013 at Hurley Medical Center. Anthony was baptized into the Antioch Missionary Baptist Church at the age of seven by the late Dr. L W Pryor (and later under the pastorate of Rev. Lewis Randolph) where he was a member of the choir, youth department and youth usher board. He later united with New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church under the pastorate of Bishop Odis A Floyd. He was currently attending Miracle Baptist Church under the pastorate of Rev. Pelvie Martin. Anthony graduated with honors from Northwestern High School c/o 1981 where he was a member of the Wrestling Team. He graduated from Spring Arbor University in 1990 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Development. Anthony was a member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity. He worked as a licensed Real Estate Agent and later as a licensed Real Estate Appraiser. Anthony was the Owner/Operator of Greeting Cards Galore, a company specializing in African American greeting cards. His hobbies included designing greeting cards and watching sports. Anthony leaves to cherish his memories: wife, Debbie Mayfield; son, Hannibal Anthony Brown; daughter, Toi Monet Creel; father, Bennie Lee Brown; sisters, Cassandra Barksdale, Bridget (Joey) Edwards, Debbie Bothwell & Tonya Brown; brother, Roy Brown; nieces, Mona, Catryna & Freddi Mae Brown; nephews, Freddie Brown & Lamar Dabney; great-nieces, Maliyah Nichols, Janiyah Brown & Liyah Brown; great-nephew, Jaylyn Nichols; aunt, Dorothy Goodlow; nieces-in-law, Jennifer, Whitney and Amina; a host of in-laws, cousins and friends including special friends Henry & Shirley (“Sis Shirley”) Smart. Anthony was preceded in death by mother, Willie Ruth Brown; grandparents, Richard Owens Jr. & Odessa (Owens) Raulston; aunt, Leatrice Palmer; uncles, Porter Sledge Jr. & Willie J Owens.
