MOORE, Mrs. Annie Laura - Age 83, passed away Thursday, July 4, 2019 at McFarland Facility, Flint, MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, July 13, 2019 at Metropolitan Baptist Tabernacle, 930 E. Myrtle Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Rev. Dr. Herbert Miller III, Host Pastor, Pastor Alfred L. Harris Sr. and Pastor Alfred L. Harris Jr., officiating. Family an friends will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Moore will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, with family present to receive friends 6:00 PM - 8:00 PM. Annie Laura (Bradley) Moore was born February 2, 1936 in River Falls, Alabama, the daughter of the late Ernest and Maggie (Daniels) Bradley. She attended Andalusia Public School System during her formative years. Annie Accepted Christ at an early age at New Pilgrim Baptist Church, River Falls, AL. She moved to Detroit, MI in the mid 1950’s and united with Williams Chapel Missionary Baptist Church (now Abundant Life Church) under the late Rev. Welton W. Williams. Annie was a faithful and devoted member where she sang in the Radio Choir and organized the Broadcast Club to help fund the Radio Broadcast Ministry which aired every Sunday night in Detroit, MI. Annie Moore has always been a caretaker. As a child she cared for her sick mother who died when she was 9 years old. As an adult she moved to Maryland to take care of her brother until his death. She also cared for her daughter’s neighbor, who had no family and allowed her to move in with her until she died. Even though Mother Moore was unable to finish high school, she pursued her Nurse’s Aid Certificate and became a Certified Nurse Aid. She was employed at Sinai Hospital and was later trained as a Surgical Sterilization Technician until she retired in the mid 1990’s. Mother Moore was a faithful member of the Mothers Board at Saints of God Church (where her Son-in-Love pastors) until her health would not allow her to serve any longer. Annie Laura Moore will be lovingly remembered and missed by: her ONE and only child, Hernetha Denise (Williams) Harris; son-in-love, Pastor Alfred Harris Sr. of Flushing, MI; 2 bonus daughters, Barbara Moss of San Francisco, CA and June Prograis of Detroit, MI; grandchildren, Alfred (Cimone) Harris Jr., of Saginaw, MI and Camille Harris of Flushing, MI, Shannon (Andre) Holmes and Apprille Harris, all of Detroit, MI; sister, Twynette Beaman of Niagara Falls, NY; a host of nieces and nephews; 10 sisters-in-law, Genie Bradley of Niagara Falls, NY, Harnether Gambrell, Odell Hayes, Joanna James, Shirley Jones, Willie Thompson, Dorothy Williams, Florida Williams, all of Detroit, MI, Samella Nix and Vida Simpson of Atlanta, GA; 3 brothers-in-law, Clarence Williams Jr., O.D. Williams and Samuel Williams, all of Detroit, MI; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Martha Walker of Detroit, MI and Dorothy Hawkins of Flint. Annie was preceded in death by the love of her life, Hughie Williams; former husbands, Richard Pitts and Henry Moore; 3 sisters, Kate, Rena and Ruth; sister cousins, Virginia Riley and Lula Mae Wilson; 4 brothers, Charlie, Broughton, Robert and Albert James; grandson, Alan Dennis Harris; great-grandson, Andrew Harris; and lifetime friend & sister-in-law, Addie B.
