Mrs. Annie Luckado-Campbell

LUCKADO-CAMPBELL, Mrs. Annie Lee - Age 95, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Willowbrook Manor. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Bethel United Methodist Church, 1309 N. Ballenger Hwy., with funeral services commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Campbell will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday, with the family present from 4:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Mrs. Annie Lee Luckado-Campbell age 94, passed away Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Willowbrook Manor - Flint, Michigan. She was born on February 6, 1923 in Marvel, Arkansas, the daughter of the late Fines and Nancy Wilburn-Luckado. She relocated to Flint in 1927 with her family. She attended Flint public schools and graduated from Northern High School. She joined Bethel United Methodist Church under the leadership of the Rev. William Teague and the Assistant Pastor Lander Campbell, Sr. and was a dedicated member for over 67 years. Annie was a conversationalist (Proverbs 31:26-She speaks with wisdom and faithful instruction is on her tongue.) her favorite sayings were; “Don’t let your left hand know what your right hand is doing,” “Root little pig or die hog poor”, “I can show you better than I can tell you”, “Ain’t this a killer”, “Outstanding”, “Lord have mercy” and “Truth is stranger than fiction.” Surviving are: devoted and loving children, Lavarne (Dina) Ross, James (Ernestine) Campbell, Aneta (Danny) Wilkerson and Veronica Ruth (Milas) Caudle, Sr.; 14 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren, 10 great-great grandchildren with the 11th great-great grandchild due in March; a host of other relatives and friends including, the Black, Woodson, Prince, Ross, Altheimer and McKenze families; cousins, Curtis (Gerri) Wilbourn and Evelyn Moore; dear friends, Roxianna Moore and family, Lorraine Moore and family, Evelyn Miles and family. Lomita and Marengo street neighbors. Mrs. Luckado-Campbell was preceded in death by her daughter, Gail Elaine Campbell-Lemon; grandchildren, Terry Mabry and Deziree Jones; 4 sisters; and 2 brothers. The family would like to express special thanks to; Dr. Elmahdi Saeed, Willowbrook Manor and staff. Homecare nurses, Rose, Melissa and Aide Traci; nieces, Shirley, Nancine, Belle and Karla; her roommate, Betty; and Beautician, Mattie Taylor, Rev. Faith Green-Timmons and the Bethel United Methodist Church family, and Mr. Lawrence E. Moon and staff.
