LARKIN, Mrs. Annie B. - Age 80, passed away Monday, May 12, 2015 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, May 18, 2015 at Foss Ave. Baptist Church, 1159 E. Foss Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Reginald G. Flynn officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Larkin will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m. - 6 p.m. Sunday. Mrs. Annie B. Larkin went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, May 12, 2015. She was born September 10, 1934 in Tarry, Arkansas, the daughter of O.D. Brown and Bird E. Nelson. Mother Larkin attended Lincoln High School in Pine Bluff, AR. On January 5, 1953 she married the late Wayman Larkin, from this union 4 daughters and 3 sons were born. In 1957 the family moved to Flint, Michigan. Mother Annie Larkin joined Foss Avenue Baptist Church in 1961 under the spiritual leadership of Reverend Avery Aldridge. Her church and community involvement included Cub Scout Den Mother, Kitchen Committee Member, and supporter of the NAACP. She was an avid sports fan who also enjoyed crossword puzzles, crocheting and cooking. Mother Larkin was always willing to give to others. She was employed at Temple Dining Room from 1969-1978 and Hurley Medical Center for 21 years, retiring in 1999. The joy of her life was serving the Lord. Many lives were affected by her but none more than her family and friends. Mrs. Annie B. Larkin leaves to cherish her memory: 4 daughters, Betty (Raymond) Richardson, Virdean (James) Johnson, Wilma Larkin and Rose Topps; 2 sons, Ricky and Ronnie Larkin; god-daughter, Camille Collins, all of Flint; grandchildren, Vatina Topps-Reynolds, Kaleb and Vincent Topps, Jarvis and Jasmine Johnson, Dewayne Larkin, Ramel Taylor, Raina Richardson, Jalen and Brandy Jarrett; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Melzora (Clint) Lloyd of Desoto, TX; 3 brothers, O.D. (Theresa) Brown, Jr., Johnnie Lewis, all of Pine Bluff, AR and Borsea Brown of Dallas, TX; sister-in-law, Jessie Williams; son-in-law, Eugene Jarrett, both of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends to numerous to include. Mrs. Larkin was preceded in death by her husband, Wayman Larkin; daughter, Deloise Larkin-Jarrett; son, Dewayne Larkin; parents, O.D. Brown and Bird E. Nelson; brothers, James Williams and Henderson Brown. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Tommie Stevens and staff, Rev. Dr. Reginald G. Flynn and the entire Foss Avenue Baptist Church family, a host of family friends, and loves ones.
