GORDON, Ms. Annie Sue - age 71, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at St. John Hospital-Oakland, MI. Family hour 1:30 p.m. Saturday, September 27, 2014 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. with funeral service commencing at 2 p.m. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 1:30 p.m. Saturday. Ms. Gordon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 2 p.m.-8 p.m. Friday. Ms. Annie Sue Gordon was born on March 30, 1943 in Norfleet, Arkansas, to the parents of Mr. & Mrs. Chester and Linnie Mae (Bryant) Tiner. Annie Sue attended Camden Arkansas Public Schools, graduating from Camden Sr. High School. Annie Sue met and married Tommy Gordon and moved to Flint, Michigan in 1965; to this union three children were born; Darryl, Tammy, & Shonda. Ms. Gordon was employed at Marion Hall and later at White Swan Hotel in Flint, MI. Annie Sue attended New Jerusalem Full Gospel Baptist Church in Flint. Those who knew her will remember that she had a beautiful and loving smile that will always be engraved in our hearts and minds when we think of her. Annie Sue enjoyed family outings, songs of all types; everything from gospel, opera to “shake it like a salt shaker.” Some of her favorite pastimes were bingo and Family Feud. She enjoyed life and embraced all aspects of it and never allowed her illnesses to hinder her good spirit. Anytime someone would ask her how she was doing her response was always “I’m fine.” One of Annie Sue’s favorite clichés was “Un-huh.” Tammy & Shonda always kept her hair, nails and jewelry the way she liked it, looking good and stylish. Her favorite color was green, she enjoyed laughing and could never keep a secret. Annie Sue’s memories will live on through her good spirit and affectionate smile. Annie Sue Gordon leaves to cherish her memories: 2 daughters, Tammy (Curtis, Jr.) Gee and Shonda (Lee) Watson; 3 sons, Robert and Hosea Moss, and Dion-ta (Ebony) Gordon; 11 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; 2 sisters, Loretta Tanner and Patrice (Maurice) Askew, Jr.; 3 brothers, Sammy (Casandra) Tiner, Larry Bryant, and Nathaniel (Sharita) Bryant; uncle, Moses (Joyce) Bryant; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Annie Sue was preceded in death by: her parents, Chester and Linnie Mae Tiner; son, Darryl Gibson; 2 brothers, Claude Tiner and Jimmie Bryant; 2 sisters, Corrine Richmond and Betty Maddox. Annie Sue had some special angels during her life that provided loving and devoted attention to her. Quintoria “Snuff,” Tyson Watson, Curtis “Pooter” (Galeana), Rickey, Raymond, and Lawrence “Bubba.” She also had an extraordinary cousin who always checked on her – Teola Bendy. The family would like to thank Fresenius Medical Care Services and St. Anthony’s Healthcare Center staff for providing care during Annie Sue Gordon’s time of need.
