ANDERSON, Ms. Annie Marie (Duncan) - Age 86, passed away Monday, May 18, 2020 at her residence. Ms. Duncan-Anderson will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Friday, May 22, 2020 from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM. Entombment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Ms. Annie Marie Duncan-Anderson, affectionately known as “Marie”, was born on May 16, 1934 in Tuscaloosa, Alabama, the daughter of the late Mable Williams and Jesse Prewitt. Marie attended Druid High School in Tuscaloosa, Alabama. She professed her faith in Christ at an early age and was baptized at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Samantha, Alabama. She was a proud member of Family Missionary Baptist Church of Flint, Michigan under Pastor Tellis Simon’s teaching. Marie passionately loved spending her time planting flowers, gardening, ironing and sewing. She was an excellent homemaker and cook. Marie enjoyed playing cards, completing word search puzzles, listening to music and visiting her family in Alabama. Marie was truly a devoted and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and foster mother. She spent many years watching over her Page Street block club family where she served as President. Marie leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Jacqualine (Kenneth) Gibson, Ruby Ann Duncan, all of Flint and Grashan (David) Wilson of Sparta, WI; grandchildren, Omari (Jug) Duncan of Flint, Yashica Warren of Los Angeles, CA, Erin Reese of Atlanta, GA, and Shyanne Wilson of Sparta, WI; great-grandchildren, S’eaira Duncan of Davison, MI, Tasheona Jones of Lansing, MI, Omari Duncan of Port Huron, MI, and Journee McDonald of Knoxville, TN; great-great-grandchild, Kevon Coleman of Davison, MI; sister Emma Jean of Trenton, NJ; brother, John Prewitt of Sebring, FL; niece, Cammie (Maurice) Woodson; nephews, Roderick Clements and Terry Clements, all of Flint; a host of cousins in New York; great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends. Marie was preceded in death by her son Willie Duncan and his best friends, Tyrell Cook and James Peacock whom she loved as sons; grandson, Aaron Reese III; parents, Mable Williams and Jesse Prewitt; sister Margene (Moses) Conerly; brother, Januril Prewitt; devoted sister-in-law, Purnella “Net” Duncan; and best friend, Mittie Young.
