DIXON, Mother. Annie - Age 77, passed away Monday, March 31, 2025, at her residence. Family hour 10:30 AM Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM Tuesday, April 8, 2025, Rev. Willie Towner, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Association, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:30 AM Tuesday. Mother Dixon will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed from 8:00 AM Tuesday, April 8, 2025, until the family hour. Annie Ruth Dixon, born Annie Bowers, entered this world on October 17, 1947, in Sargant, GA. She is the beloved daughter of Nellie Houston. At a young age, she moved to Flint, MI, where she attended Northern High School. In October of 1964, she married the late Leroy Dixon. Annie dedicated her life to faith and family. She was baptized at an early age at Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church and later became a devoted member and mother of United Missionary Baptist Church. A loving homemaker, she selflessly cared for her children, grandchildren, family, and friends, creating a warm and welcoming home filled with love and wisdom. Annie found joy in the simple pleasures of life; cherishing time spent with her loved ones. She was known for her kind spirit, wisdom, and golden heart. Every evening at 7 o’clock, she delighted in watching Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune, accompanied by her favorite treats, Tootsie Rolls and Pepsi. In her earlier years, she enjoyed fishing and barbecuing with her beloved uncle & aunt, Doran and Everlene Moreland, often reminiscing in the comfort of their garage. Her family will forever cherish the memories of her famous breakfasts, always prepared with warmth. Annie Ruth Dixon leaves behind a legacy of love, wisdom, and cherished memories. She is survived by her three children: daughter, Juanita Dixon; sons, Deshon Dixon, both of Flint and Louis Dixon of Lima, OH. Her love continues through her 10 grandchildren, Tadece Dixon of San Diego, CA, Tacoia Davis of Ypsilanti, MI, Antwan and Antoine Dixon, both of Flint, Tyrus, Kyndal, Kynderic, Kazyn, Thoryn, and Aiko Dixon, all of Lima, OH; She is also survived by 3 great-grandchildren, Jaylen Johnson of San Diego, CA, Makai Gerber and Gianna Davis, both of Ypsilanti, MI. Additionally, she leaves behind her dear brothers, Mitchell and Jerry Houston; great-aunt, Everlene Moreland; a host of other loving family members and friends. Annie is now reunited in eternal peace with her husband, Leroy Dixon; daughter, Tamara Dixon; mother, Nellie Ruth Houston; grandmother, Ella Bowers; her twin sisters, Brinda and Linda; brothers, Bruce, James, and Morris; and many other cherished loved ones who have gone before her. The family extends a heartfelt thank you to Lawrence Moon Funeral Home, Pastor Willie Towner of United Missionary Baptist Church, cousin, Tina Moreland and Marvetria Houston, nephew, Darnell Houston, and Matthew Gerber for their love and support during this time. Annie Ruth Dixon’s legacy of love, kindness, and faith will forever remain in the hearts of those she touched. She was a woman of few words but infinite wisdom, and her presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew her. May she rest in heavenly peace.
