Mrs. Annette Kelly

KELLY, Mrs. Annette - Age 82, passed away Monday, October 15, 2012 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Monday, October 22, 2012 at House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church, 1851 W. Carpenter Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 11:00 a.m. Monday. Mrs. Kelly will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m. Sunday. Annette Kelly was born February 11, 1930 in Detroit, Michigan, the daughter of Emmette and Gertrude Gibson. Annette was a resident of Flint for 21 years. She went to High School in Detroit, Michigan and received her diploma from Detroit Persian High School. She found joy in being a homemaker. Annette divided her spark time between shopping for others at St. Vincent De Paul and going to the casino with her children. Her greatest joy was taking care of her children, grandchildren and the many neighborhood children who lovingly called her granny as well. She will forever be remembered as a woman who never met a stranger, by anyone who came into her life and her home. Mrs. Annette Kelly leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Joyce Towner, Linda (Mendell) Vaughn, Frances Robertson: 5 sons, Roosevelt (Rose) Gibson, Bennie (Linda) Robertson, Darrell Robertson, Kevin (Diane) Robertson and Melvin Robertson; grandchildren, Theodrick (April), Frederick, Tony (Rachel), Teria, Dacqueen, Emmett, Tanisha, Donta (Harmonie), Lawrence, Montray, LaJuan, DeMarlo, Sharlinda, Nadia, Miranda, La’Shay, Meochee, Donnie, Robert Lee, Kalaiah, Lorace, De’Shawna, Elijah, Sheldon, Eric, Kiontae, Jerome, Darrell, Jr., LaShawna, BreKiontae, Jerome, Darrell, Jr., LaShawna, BreShawna and Bria; 50 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; 9 nieces; 2 nephews; 1 aunt; 1 uncle; a host of cousins; sister-in-law, Darlene Gibson; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Paulette Nelson, the Webster and Taylor families, Donnie Scott and family, Gloria Stacker, Sandra Coleman, LaVon Ivy, and Larry Mitchell. Mrs. Kelly was preceded in death by her daughter, Gertrude Darlene Gibson; parents, Emmette and Gertrude Gibson; significant other, Bennie Robertson; brother, Carl Gibson; and son-in-law, John Towner. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren ICU (6th Floor), Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart and House of Prayer Missionary Baptist Church family, Pastor Danyiel Griffin and El Bethel Church family, Pastor Seon Thompson and City of Refuge of Flint Church family, Regional Ambulance Service, Dr. Roy, Nurse Kim, Nurse Omega and to all that prayed, called, brought food, flowers, cards and letters.
