Ms. Annette Grass

GRASS, Ms. Annette - Age 61, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, February 18, 2017 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Kenneth L. Stewart, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Friday. Ms. Grass will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed 12:00 PM-8:00 PM on Friday. Ms. Annette Grass was born June 9, 1955 in Newton, Mississippi, the daughter of Marshall and Jaruthia Grass. She was a resident of Mt. Morris, Michigan and was a member of Pasadena Avenue Church of God. Annette graduated from Flint Northern High School, “Class of 1974.” She also attended Mott Community College where she obtained an Associate Degree in Social Work and attended Klein Independent School where she studied Medical Assistance. Annette was employed as a Foster Parent for Ennis and an Associate at Meijer. She enjoyed watching CNN and Soap Opera’s, shopping, traveling, reading, and yard work. Annette loved decorating and caring for her loved ones. Her main characteristic was her gift of laughter. Ms. Annette Grass leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Brittany Grass of Mt. Morris, MI; many foster children that she raised; her dog, Jumper; 2 sisters, Rosie Mae Grass and Inez Bradley, both of Flint; brother, Jeff (Bonnie) Grass of Mt. Morris, MI; special nieces, Debra (Bruce) Stewart, Essie Mae Chapman, Monica Grass, Nicole Grass, Marsha Grass, Maricha Grass, Faye Grass, Marie Walker, Deniese Lengyel, Jeanette Chapman and Xylinda Smith-Nichols; nephews, RoShaad Grass, RaVon Grass, Jeffrey Grass, Marshall Grass, Flilmore Grass Jr., Marice Chapman, Jerome Chapman and Xzavier Smith; a host of cousins, great-nieces, great-nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Violetta Allen, Hattie Young, Ester Terry, Gloria Medows, Terry and Walt Nickson. Mrs. Grass was preceded in death by her parents, Marshall and Jaruthia Grass; sister, Anna Coleman; brothers, Johnny Grass, Marshall Grass Jr., Filmore Grass and William Grass. The family would like to express special thanks to Hurley Medical Center ICU, Catarra Lewis, Tialenia Barnes and Able Patton.
