OWENS, Mrs. Anna M. - Age 65, passed away Monday, June 16, 2008 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10:30AM Monday, June 23, 2008 at Second Friendship Missionary Baptist Church, G-6046 Clio Rd., with funeral service commencing 11AM, Pastor Rodney Williams, offciating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Monday. Mrs. Owens will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10AM-8PM Sunday. Mrs. Anna Melba Owens was born March 13, 1943 in Texarkana, Texas, the daughter of Sylvester Trammel and Rosie Lee Williams. Mrs. Owens worked for a short time but spent life caring for her family. She married husband George Owens in 1962, in Flint, MI. Mrs. Owens enjoyed spending time with her family, watching soap operas, and the Christian channel. Before her sickness took place, she loved attending church services, cooking and Bingo. Mrs. Anna M. Owens will be greatly missed by: devoted husband of 46 years, George Owens; 3 sons, George Owens, Jr., Felix Owens, and Zebedee (Janise) Owens; 3 daughters, Tonya (Ali) Saaba, all of Mt. Morris, MI, Veronica Owens of Houston, TX and Toveka Owens of Mt. Morris, MI; 13 grandchildren including special grandchildren, Sharon and Andre Owens of Mt. Morris, MI; a host of great-grandchildren; 4 brothers, Norris, Morris and Percy Williams all of Texarkana, TX and Jackie Williams of Flint; 4 sisters, Jeanie and Sammie Williams of Texarkana, TX, Eddie Davis and Mary James of Flint; brother-in-law, Cleveland (Addie) Owens, Jr. of Compton, CA; a host of special nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. Mrs. Owens was preceded in death by her parents, Sylvester Trammel and Rosie Lee Williams; brother, Clark Trammel; father-in-law, Cleveland Owens, Sr.; mother-in-law, Tommie Lee Owens; daughter-in-law, Sheri Owens. The family would like to express special thanks to Second Friendship Baptist Church family, the staff of McLaren Regional Medical Center, Dr. Haynes, Dr. Rittenger, the staff of Genesys Regional Medical Center and everyone for all acts of kindness.
