Angela "Angel" Austin

AUSTIN, Ms. Angela L. "Angel" - Age 48, went to be with the Lord, Thursday, November 17, 2011 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, November 28, 2011 at Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church, 6415 N. Clio Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Rev. Wallace Hill III, officiating. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, 5710 N. Saginaw St. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10 a.m. Monday. Ms. Austin will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Ms. Angela “Angel” Austin was born March 7, 1963 in East St. Louis, Illinois, the daughter of Yvonne Austin and Veko Cox. “Angel” was raised in Flint as longtime resident. She was a member of Mt. Pisgah Baptist Church. “Angel” attended Flint Community Schools, graduating from Flint Northwestern High School, “Class of 1980.” She also attended Ross Medical School. “Angel” worked at Hartland Manor for many years before working at Hurley Medical Center for 9 years. Her hobbies were: reading, doing word searches, talking on the phone, sleeping, helping family and friends, spending time with her grandchildren and growing plants. Ms. Angela “Angel” Austin leaves to cherish her memory: son, LaShae Robertson; daughter, Angel Austin; 2 step children, Anthony Jr. of Dallas, TX and Trever Gamble of Los Angeles, CA; grandchildren, Tamya Bryant, Devon Robertson, Elaijah Ferguson, De Marion Dudley and Zhania Austin; parents, Yvonne Austin and Veko Cox; 2 sisters, Carmen (Rodney) Coleman and Karen (Revilo) Tyler; brother, Joseph (Patricia) Smith; 6 niece; 7 great-nieces; 5 nephews including special nephew, Latrielle Releford; 5 great-nephews; 3 aunts, Ardell Lewis, Cynthia Mask and Rosalind (Mark) Moss; 2 uncles, Edward Austin and Orlando (Sherry) Mask; goddaughters, Shayna and Ashley White; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including best friends, Shannon White, godmother, Earnest Stean Pearson and special friends, Walter Simpson, Wanda Ware, Mary Jones, Eugene Tolbert, and the Jackson family. Ms. Austin was preceded in death by her sister, Yvette Samon; grandmother, Mary V. Mask; and the love of her life, Anthony Gamble. The family would like to express special thanks to McLaren Regional Medical Center ICU, Hurley Medical Center 9 East and the Mitchell family.
