NEWMAN, Ms. Andrea B. - Age 49, passed away Friday, September 24, 2010 at Hurley Medical Center. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 5, 2010 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 11 a.m., Supt. Steve Hawkins and Eld. Tywan Feimster officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:30 a.m. Tuesday. Ms. Newman will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12Noon-8 p.m. Monday. Ms. Andrea Bernice Newman was born August 9, 1961 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Andrew and Nellie Newman. Andrea was a graduate of Flint Northern High School. She worked at Garfield School as a Teacher’s Aide and at CMH Cornerstone as a Laborer. Andrea loved to dress, listen to music, jewelry, curly wigs, makeup, lip gloss, perfume and shopping. Blue was her favorite color. Andrea also loved the Lord and enjoyed church whenever she could attend. Mrs. Andrea Bernice Newman leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Kendrea Newman; one expecting grandchild; 4 sisters, Evelyn, Tracey, Shirley and Brenda; brother, Andrew Newman, Jr.; 12 nieces, (including special niece, Brandy), Juanita, India, Ambrel, JaNise, Teresa, Andreia, Tracey Jr., Ashara, Sharnise, Darletta and Dama Mae; 5 nephews, Estee, Sunta, DereKus and Christopher Newman and Lenny Watson; 6 aunts, Jesse, Annie, Betty, Laurina, Janet and Ruth; 2 uncles, Charles and William Newman; 2 sisters-in-law, Roslyn and Maylorse G.; 3 brothers-in-law, Alfred Bowlson, Elliott Jones and Ben Washington; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Altha Martin, Gwendolyn Marks, Edith Meadows, Mary Montgomery, Okie Williams and Christine Johnson. Ms. Newman was preceded in death by her parents, Andrew and Nellie Newman; grandparents, Bishop Estee and Ida Bell Newman; 3 uncles; and 2 aunts.
