MORGAN, Ms. Andrea M. - Age 64, passed away Sunday, April 14 ,2013 at University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor, MI. Family hour 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, 2013 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Rodney Ellison officiating. Family and friends will assemble at the funeral home 10 a.m. Monday. Ms. Morgan will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Sunday. Ms. Andrea M. Morgan was born December 18, 1948 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Juanita Morgan and Leroy Jackson. Shortly following her birth, she and her mother relocated to Los Angeles, California a place she would forever call home. She attended Immaculate Heart High School in Los Angeles, CA. Upon graduating and completing her education, she embarked on her world travels. Andrea was a life long educator and teacher. She began by moving to Paris, France where she resided for many years and taught at Université Paris-Sorbonne (Paris-Sorbonne University of Literature and Civilizations). Her educational opportunities continued to take her around the world. She left Paris and relocated to Abidjan (Ivory Coast, Africa), where she gave birth to her eldest daughter, Vanessa Glad. She furthered her educational opportunities in places like, Noumea, New-Coledonia , Ouvea, South Pacific, Australia, and numerous other beautiful countries. She returned to the United States in 1980 where she worked at Beverly Hills High School, before returning to her birthplace of Flint, MI and giving birth to her youngest daughter Candice Morgan. Andrea was a classically trained pianist and loved classical music and French movies. She enjoyed the arts and passed her love of culture on to her children and grandchildren. She was a passionate reader and also enjoyed sewing and spending time with family. She was selfless and a shining example of God’s love. Andrea was treasured by many and will truly be missed. She leaves to cherish sweet memories; 2 daughters, Vanessa Glad Burton and Candice Morgan; 2 grand daughters, Kyle and Klaudia; 1 grandson, Devin; 3 brothers, Leroy (Valerie) Jackson of Bloomfield, MI, Dennis (Shirley) Jackson of Flint, MI, and Leonard Jackson of Mexico; 2 sisters, Dondi Jackson of Chicago, IL and Kathy Jackson of Flint, MI; 4 aunts, Gloria (Richard) Reynolds, Mary Ellen Buckner, Nellie Bacon and Charlotte Morgan, all of Flint, MI; a host of cousins, including special cousin, Sherry Harris, friends, adopted children and grandchildren and special friend, Sandra Brown of Los Angeles, CA. Andrea was preceded in death by parents, Juanita Morgan and Leroy Jackson; special aunts, Anna Lou Roper and Mamie James; special uncle, James “Piepi” Morgan, Jr.; and Godmother, Odelle Wilson. The family would like to express special thanks to Dr. Stephen Bush, R.N. Kai Jackson of McLaren 6th floor-CCU; Dr. Konnerman and the phenomenal staff of University Of MI-Ann Arbor Hospital CICU.
