TOPPS, Mr. Anderson T. - Age 78, passed away Wednesday, May 13, 2020 at Hamilton Assisted Living. Mr. Topps will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed Wednesday, May 20, 2020 from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Mr. Anderson Timothy Topps was born January 12, 1942 in Tarry, Arkansas, the son of Will Topps and Lola M. Luster. He peacefully transitioned on Wednesday, May 13, 2020. Anderson graduated from Lincoln High School in Star City, Arkansas. In his early years, Anderson enjoyed learning and performing many activities on the family farm, in addition to helping other community members with farming and auto repairs. Upon graduating he transplanted to the growing automotive capital of the Midwest, Flint, Michigan, where he quickly showed his knack for learning. Anderson worked in a variety of positions at General Motors Flint V-8 Engine Plant from 1965-1998. During this time, he married Rose M. Larkin, and from that union had three children. Anderson enjoyed outdoor activities such as boating with family and friends, fishing, ATV riding, and serving as a farming consultant. He also enjoyed the company of cousins (the Luster family), many of whom he considered “bothers” and “sisters”. Mr. Anderson Timothy Topps leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Vatina M. Topps-Reynolds of Flushing, MI; 2 sons, Kaleb T. (Detrich) Topps of Christiana, TN and Vincent B. (LaTanya) Topps; 5 grandchildren, Kayla Topps, Kristen Reynolds, Janay Reynolds, Brooke Topps, and Colin Topps; sisters, Maso (John) Demps, Dr. Betty J. Wilborn-Lee, and Leola Lee; brothers, Frank (Eddie Mae) Topps and Major Topps; a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins including special cousins, Norma Henry, Linda Luster, and favorite aunt, Rosetta Luster; a host of other relatives and friends including special friends, Columbus Neal, Joe Vickers, Otis Martin, and Robert Davis. Mr. Topps was preceded in death by his parents, Will Topps and Lola M. Luster; grandmother, Jeanette Luster; and brother, Dr. Charles Lee The family would like to express thanks to Heart to Heart Hospice staff, Hurley Medical Center ER and 9E staff, Dr Randolph and Beth Shumacher and staff, Hamilton’s Assisted Living and staff, Addington Place and staff, Pastor Floyd Fuller of Mt. Tabor Missionary Baptist Church, and Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and staff. The children of Anderson would also like to express gratitude to our cousin Linda Luster, Aunt Maso and John Demps. In lieu of flowers, you may donate in Anderson’s name to the Alzheimer’s Association or the American Cancer Society.
