JONES, Missy Amauri Kelis – Age 5, passed away Saturday, October 13, 2012 at C.S. Mott Children’s Hospital, Ann Arbor, MI. Family hour 11:30 a.m. Friday, October 19, 2012 at Grace Emmanual Baptist Church, 3502 Lapeer Rd., with funeral service at 12 noon. Pastor Marvin A. Jennings, Sr. officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 11:30a.m. Friday. Missy Jones will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12noon-8p.m. Thursday. Amauri Kelis Jones was born on April 8, 2007 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Angela C. Bowman and Kevon L. Jones. She began her education at King Elementary in Flint and was currently enrolled at Bryant Elementary. Amauri enjoyed playing dress-up and making sure that she and everyone around her had well-manicured nails. She also liked painting and doing various crafts. Amauri loved playing with her cousins and especially her brother. She spent a lot of time with her Nana and helping her Gran. But most of all, she kept close to her mother and made sure that she was always okay. Amauri Kelis Jones leaves to cherish her memory: mother, Angela C. Bowman; grandparents, Brenda (Charles) Hall, Samford Jones, Jr., all of Flint, Kim Fortt of Fort Wayne, IN; great-grandmother, Minnie Bowman; brother, Zion Jones; aunts, Qionna Bowman and Brittany Johnson, all of Flint, Kenya (Mandel) Bedenfield, Kisha Jones, Kamesha Jones, all of Fort Wayne, IN; great-aunts, Linda Atkinson of Chicago, IL, Leah (Don) Jones of Flint, Nadine Fortt and Tracey Fortt, both of fort Wayne, IN; uncles, Charles Hall III, Deon Clark, both of Flint, Kylan Fortt, Antonio Clark, both of Fort Wayne, IN; cousins, Sydney and Sierra Bowman, Tasha (Khali) Bowman, Antonio, Antwaun, Keith, Khali and Jacoby Franklin, Kelvin (Tiffany) Fortt, all of Flint, Tamika Fortt of Fort Wayne, IN; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends, including best friend, Amaya Marks of Chandler, AZ, god-sister, Mariyah Marzette; honorary aunts, Kortni Perry, Brianna Waller, and Whittney King, all of Flint. Amauri was preceded in death by her father, Kevon L. Jones; great-grandfather, Thomas Bowman; great–grandmother, Shirley Fortt; great-great-grandmother, Katie Belton; aunt, Latoya Hall and uncle, Kori Bond.
