MILLER, Mr. Alvis Teshawn - Age 22, answered the Lord's call Monday, June 12, 2006 at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, MI. Family hour 11AM Monday, June 19, 2006 at First Union Baptist Church, 7004 Fleming Rd., with funeral service commencing immediately at 12Noon. Pastor Archie Powell, Jr. officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 11AM Monday. Mr. Miller will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12Noon-8PM Sunday. Mr. Alvis TeShawn Miller was born June 24, 1983 in Flint, Michigan, the son of Mr. & Mrs. Alvin and Ruby Miller, Sr. He attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Northwestern,"Class of 2002." Alvis worked as an Athletic Assistant with the football and basketball teams for various high schools in the Flint area including Beecher Middle and High School. Alvis was currently employed at the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Miller accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated, faithful member of First Union Baptist Church, where he served in different capacities throughout the various ministries in his church with his most cherished being Director of the Youth Choir. Alvis' favorite hobby was going to church. He delighted himself in making his presence known in the House of the Lord every time the opportunity was available to him. Alvis leaves to cherish sweet memories: parents, Alvin and Ruby Miller, Sr.; grandmother, Ludille Miller; brother, Alvin, Jr.; niece, Destiny Miller; 3 aunts, Ludille (L.S.) Barton, Ester Woods, Edith Roshell-Golden, all of Flint; 4 uncles, James and Willie Miller, Leodist and Janice Roshell, all of Flint, Van Roshell of California; a host of other relatives including the Cox, Miller, Powell, Keys and Roshell families; special friend, Yolanda Nettles and family; other friends including the entire First Union Baptist Church family, Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church family, Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence E. Moon and Staff and the Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, Inc. Mr. Miller was preceded in death by his grandparents, Leodist and Daisy Roshell, L.B. Miller; great grandmother, Bettie Cox.
