Mr. Alvin Wells

WELLS, Mr. Alvin - Age 66, passed away Saturday, June 18, 2016 at Genesys Health Park, Grand Blanc, MI. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016 at Mt. Calvary Missionary Baptist Church, 4805 N. Saginaw Street Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller Host Pastor. Interment Gracelawn Community Cemetery, G-5710 N. Saginaw Street. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Wells will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 4:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. to receive friends. Mr. Alvin Wells was born August 22, 1949 in Rison, Arkansas, the youngest of nine sons born to Ola Band and Jesse Wells. He grew up in Rison, AR and graduated from Rison High School. Alvin relocated to Flint, Michigan in 1967 and became employed with I.M.A. Food Services. He retired after many years of service. Alvin enjoyed fishing, hunting, watching horse races and spending time with family and friends. Mr. Alvin Wells leaves to cherish his memory: sister, Willann Wells of Pine Bluff, AR; 3 brothers, Bobby (Sandra) Wells of Flint, Willie (Janice) Wells and Jimmy D. Wells of Rison, AR; 2 sisters-in-law, Claudine Wells of Mississippi and Maxine Wells; special daughter, Denise Austin, both of Rison, AR; special son, Anthony Mason of Lake Charles, LA; 2 granddaughters, Dequindra Cross of Flint and Jazmin Mason of Lake Charles, LA; great-granddaughter, A’Jala Chatmon of Flint; fiancé, Mae Francis Austin; god-son, Chad Walker of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Charles Miller, Willie Mae Bivins, Annette Davis and Brad Bradwell. Mr. Wells was preceded in death by his daughter, Monica Wells; parents, Ola B. and Jesse Wells; sister, Jesse Mae Richardson; 5 brothers, W.C., L.C., Nathaniel, V.O. and Sammy Wells. The family would like to express special thanks to Genesys Health Park ICU, Dr. Kure, Dr. Megan Robertson, the Mason family, Rev. Dr. Henry L. Fuller, Jr. and the Mt.
