Mr. Alvin "Al" "Snooky" Hill

HILL, Mr. Alvin - Age 73, also known as Al and Snooky, formerly of Flint, passed away on Monday, January 13, 2025. Services were held Friday, January 24, 2025, at Maurice L. Knee LTD Funeral Home in Plum, Pennsylvania. Alvin Bernard Hill also known as “Big Al”, “Capone”, “Snooky” and most recently and affectionately “Papa” was born on February 15th, 1951, in Flint, Michigan. Alvin was the 5th child born to Wallace Hill, Jr. and Bettie Jean (Reed) Hill. He accepted Christ at the early age of 7 and was baptized into the Canaan Missionary Baptist Church. Over the years, Alvin grew strong in his faith and knowledge of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and it was his faith that led and motivated him to excellence in every area of his life. Alvin attended Flint Public Schools, graduating from Flint Southwestern High School in 1969, where he was an outstanding football player. After a year of fulltime work, he continued his education at Eastern Michigan University where he received his Bachelor of Science degree in 1975. While attending Eastern, Alvin was initiated on May 15th, 1971, at the Delta Nu Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc he served as Past Polemarch and Dean of Pledges for the Delta Nu Chapter. Alvin was a 50-year member. After receiving his degree, Alvin went to work for the General Motors Acceptance Corporation. He began his career as an entry-level Field Rep. And over 30-plus years, worked his way through every level of management, retiring as Director of Commercial Lending in 2008. Alvin untied in Holy Matrimony with the love of his life Victoria Elaine Wilkinson in 1983. Equal in their strong faith in God, they raised a family with God as its center, having daily devotions every day of their married life. Their faith led them to organize a church based in their home that has blessed many over the years. The New Beginnings Ministry, which was organized in 2007, also hosts a weekly bible study and prayer group that reaches many. A family man, a man of God, a dedicated and loyal husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Alvin loved life, laughter and watching the Steelers. He was also famous for entertaining the family on occasion with his singing and dancing “talent”. Alvin Bernard Hill leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of 41 years, Victoria Hill; sons, Tyrone (Tiffany) Jenkins, Alvin Hill II, Victor (Cathy) Hill all of Pennsylvania. 7 Grandchildren Elaina Sophia, Ariana Ava’ Marie, Tabria, Tyrique, Tyrell, Tymir, and Tyree all of Pennsylvania. One brother, Reverend Wallace (Shirley) Hill of Flint, MI; 2 sisters, Evangelist Janice Hill of Farmington Hills, MI and Jacqueline (Dunell) Chaney of Oxford, MI. 5 nephews, Charles Montgomery, Wallace (Saville) Hill, Rodrick Hill, all of Flint, MI; Darrell Hill of Indianapolis, IN; Corey Chaney of Norfolk, VA. One niece Alisia (Marques) Johnson of Oxford, MI. Brother-in-law, Reverend George (Sophia) Wilkinson of Grand Blanc, MI, 3 sisters in law, Yvonne Goode of Bowie, MD, Linda (Lennex) Burroughs of Flint, MI and Donna (Pastor Stephen) Broden of Desoto, TX and many more extended family members. Alvin was preceded on death by his parents, Wallace Hill, Jr and Bettie Hill; Grandmother Ethel Mustin; Grandfather Wallace Hill Sr. Sisters Alice Stocker, and Delores Boaz. Mother-in-law Betty Galloway and Sister-in-law Claudette Bryant.
