Almeta Lampley

LAMPLEY, Ms. Almeta - Age 33, passed away Tuesday, May 29, 2007 at McLaren Regional Medical Center. Family hour 10AM Tuesday, June 5, 2007 at Foss Avenue Baptist Church, 1159 E. Foss Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10AM Tuesday. Ms. Lampley will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2PM-8PM Monday. Ms. Almeta Lampley was born in Flint, Michigan on December 20, 1973 to Amos and Azell (Crenshaw) Lampley. Ms. Lampley at a young age attended Garfield Elementary School and then Foss Avenue Christian School. In 1991, Almeta graduated from Flint Southwestern Academy then attended Mott Community College where she continued her academic studies, receiving her Associates Degree in Marketing Management in 2000. In the year 2000, she received her Bachelor?s Degree in Business Administration from Ferris State University. Ms. Lampley worked over 12 years in retail sales as a manager at Fashion Bug and as a cashier at Krogers. She was also a co-owner of Beauty Blessings Apparel, with her close friend, Melissa (Rodgers) Mitchell. Almeta, accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at a young age, and was a member of the Foss Avenue Baptist Church for over 30 years, under the spiritual guidance of Pastor Avery Aldrige and later in life, Minister Derrick Aldridge. In 2004 Meta became a member of Faith City Church of Fenton, MI, where she loved to worship and celebrate in the spirit of the Lord. In the year of 2005, she earned and received her Virtuous Women?s Rose that she truly loved and cherished. Almeta enjoyed working and fellowshipping at church, traveling to exotic places like Jamaica and Cancun, Mexico, doing nice things for others, being humorous and dressing fashionably. She was also a true Detroit Piston's Fan. Ms. Lampley leaves to cherish her memory: loving and supportive parents, Amos and Azell Lampley; sister and brother-in-law, Jeffrey and Amy (Lampley) Washington; precious nieces and nephew, Alyssia, Ashley and Jorden Washington; godchildren, Airazonna and Romello Miller, Daysha, Dre'lyn, and Cailyn Stewart; she also leaves a host of loving aunts, uncles, cousins, best friends and her church family Faith City Church. Ms. Lampley was preceded in death by her grandparents, George and Alberta Crenshaw, Joseph and Roberta Lampley; godmother, Gladys Moore; 8 uncles, L.C., George, Jimmy, Billy and Troy Lampley, George, Earl and Paul Crenshaw. The Lampley family would like to extend a special thank you to the caring doctors, nurses and staff of McLaren Regional Medical Center's Intensive Care Unit, Melissa (Rodgers) Mitchell, Carla (Clarke) Stewart, Tiana Haynes and Carmelita Lane for comforting Almeta in her last days at the hospital.
