Mrs. Almarie Ryans

RYANS, Mrs. Almarie - Age 89, passed away Monday, June 24, 2024, at Ascension Genesys, Grand Blanc. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, July 6, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM. Interment Great Lakes National Cemetery, G-4200 Belford Rd., Holly, MI., Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Chapel 10:00 AM Saturday. Mrs. Ryans will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and may be viewed Friday, July 5, 2024, from 12:00 PM - 6:00 PM. Missionary Almarie Ryans, born Almarie Avery took her first breath of life on February 8, 1935 in Akron, AL to parents, Robena Blackmon Avery & Warren Avery. She dedicated her life to Christ at an early age and on July 3, 1960, she married the Love of Her Life, Clarence A. Ryans. Their beautiful union was a testament to the covenant they made to God. Their commitment to each others allowed them to counsel other married couples and help them through rough seasons. The lovely couple relocated to Flint, MI and united their faith with Canaan Missionary Baptist Church in 1960. They joined Ebenezer Missionary Baptist Church in 1975 under the leadership of the late Rev. Dr. Clarence Knox where Mother Ryans faithfully served the Lord and all His children for 50 plus years in many capacities including Sunday School Superintendent, President of Missionary Society, Youth Director, Chairwoman of Deaconess Board, & Events coordinator on the beloved “Red Side”. In addition to Mother Ryans’ life’s work she was a Dental Hygienist, proud Salon owner, and much sought out Beautician. Left to cherish her memory: Sister Fern Bolian of Hammond, IN; Sister-in-law Rosa Ryans of Rochester Hills, MI; countless Nieces & Nephews; Hundreds of God-Children and Grandchildren across the world including Daughter Bertha (Charles) Sligh of Shreveport, LA & Son Ricardo Chew of Flint, MI. Special Thanks to her Caretakers & Granddaughters Tyra (BerNard) Hill of Baltimore, MD; LaTiya Brackins of Flint, MI; LaSheca Randolph-Hairston of Flint, MI; Nina Marie Lee of Shreveport, LA; Grandson Kenyatta Wesley of FL; Great-Grandsons TeRey Sr., Edward, & Anthony; Granddaughters Tajai, Ki’Ara, & Hannah; Great-Great Grandchildren TeRey Jr. or “Preacher” as she affectionately called him, Bryson, Iverson, KaLia, Orion, & Alayna. Thank You to her Tribe & Village who picked up items, ran errands, or did whatever was asked of them: Dolonda Campbell, Robin Jones, Carla Ross, Nicole Marshall, & Jeneyah McDonald; Mr. Milhouse-neighbor to her on Somerset for exceptionally maintaining the landscaping and snow removal; Spiritual Daughters who visited and made sure she had her favorite foods Annette Marks, Palma Gaines, and Christine Henderson; Spiritual Daughter who visited weekly, Kay Buford. Special friend and Dollar Store buddy Clara Robinson. Thank You to the Team of Hairstylist who nurtured her hair and got it back healthy Karen Rowels.
