Mrs. Alma Wright-Strozier

WRIGHT-STROZIER, Mrs. Alma - Age 87, passed away Thursday, May 26, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 4, 2016 at Carpenter Road Apostolic Church, 4010 W. Carpenter Rd. with funeral service commencing at 12:00 p.m. Bishop John Allen, Host Pastor, Elder Daniel Hardaway, Eulogist. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at church 11:30 a.m. Saturday. Mrs. Strozier will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 2:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Friday, with family present from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. to receive friends. Mother Alma Wright-Strozier was born March 16, 1929 in Greenville, Georgia, the daughter of Albert and Effie Hardaway. She was a loving and giving women of God and spoke her mind when she saw things were not right. Mother Wright-Strozier loved her church and church family as well as her natural family. She also loved her Pastor and First Lady Bishop John F. and Ruby Allen. Mother Wright-Strozier enjoyed knitting, sewing and going to church. Mother Alma Wright-Strozier leaves to cherish her memory: 3 daughters, Deborah Gibson of Grand Blanc, MI, Vanessa Gullett and Annette White, both of Detroit, MI; 2 sons, Willie C. Wright, Jr. and Joseph Wright, both of Flint; 10 grandchildren, Andrea Wright, Niccolle Wright, Kinea Wright, Alea Wright, Willie C. Wright III, Robert L. Gibson, Jr., Sabrina E. Gibson, Montez Conliffe, Travell Adams and DeOndra Wallace; 16 extended grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; 5 great-great-grandchildren; brother, George (Roberta) Hardaway of Philadelphia, PA; Pastor Burnetta (Edward) Driver, Wanda Wright, all of Flint, Juanita (Paul) Carew of Grand Prairie, TX, Dwight Strozier of Flint, Anthony (Katrina) Strozier of Flushing, MI and Antoinne Strozier of Elgin, SC; a host of nieces including special niece, , nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends. Mother Alma Wright-Strozier was preceded in death by her husbands, Willie C. Wright, Sr. and Horace Strozier; granddaughter, Angela L. Gibson; parents, Albert and Effie Hardaway; 6 sisters; 2 brothers, daughter-in-law, Ilene Singleton-Wright; son-in-law, Robert L. Gibson, Sr. The family would like to express special thanks to Bishop John F. Allen, First Lady Ruby Allen, the Carpenter Road Apostolic Church family, Evangelist Ann Vickers, Tamekya Lewis, Kizzy from her Adult Foster Care Home, and all her family and friends.
