WILLIAMS, Sis. Alicia - Age 34, passed away Tuesday, February 16, 2016 at her residence. Family hour 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, February 24, 2016 at Harris Memorial COGIC, 4317 Lippincott Blvd., Burton, MI, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 a.m. Supt. Eric C. Bogan officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30 a.m. Wednesday. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, with family present from 2:00 p.m. -4:00 pm. to receive friends. Sister Alicia Inez Williams was born September 27, 1981, the daughter of Ms. Tania Townsend and Mr. Gary Thomas in Flint, Michigan where she was raised. Sister Alicia was a kind, and caring person with a loving personality and a pleasant spirit. To know Alicia was to love her. At an early age, Sister Alicia accepted Jesus Christ into her heart. She grew up attending Bethlehem Temple Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Pastor Nathaniel Lewis, Sr. who was also her uncle. She was very excited about her relationship with Christ and decided at an early age to make a commitment to love and serve God with her whole heart. She attended Flint Community School System, graduating from Flint Northern High School, “Class of ‘99”. Sister Alicia then went on to attend the University of Michigan-Flint and received her Bachelor's Degree in Operations Management with a concentration in Finance. She was employed part-time as a Billing Specialist at the Diplomat Pharmacy. Sister Alicia later went back to school, enrolling at Baker College, obtaining a Masters Degree in Business Administration. She was very passionate about higher learning. With this passion she established ‘Life Changers Organization’ which tutors children of all ages, in all subjects. She wanted children to learn and excel in their education. Sister Alicia met the love of her life Warren Williams, and they were united in Holy Matrimony on April 24, 2004. To this union two children were born, Mya and Makiah. She took great pleasure in providing a happy home for her family. Sister Alicia was a young example of a ‘Proverbs 31’ woman “She looketh well to the ways of her household and eateth not the bread of idleness.” Sister Alicia truly loved her husband and children, they meant the world to her. She was a devoted member of Harris Memorial Church under the leadership of Pastor Eric C. Bogan. Sister Alicia was actively involved in various areas such as being the President of the Young Women's Christian Council. She enjoyed working within the children's ministry department. She was the Co-President of the ‘Sunshine Band’ and the secretary for ‘Children of Promise’. Sister Alicia brought enthusiasm and great ideas to the team. She used her God given gifts and talents to serve others. Sister Alicia believed in praising God without complaining. She was a prayer warrior, believing that prayer was the best armor against all trials. She was a fighter. She fought the good fight of faith without wavering. Sister Alicia stood on the promises of God, and now she has received the ultimate gift, which is life eternal with our Heavenly Father. Sister Alicia Inez Williams leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband of nearly 12 years, Mr. Warren S. Williams of Grand Blanc, MI; daughter, Mya A. Williams; son, Warren M. Williams; parents, Gary D. Thomas and Tania Y. Townsend of Flint; step-father, Terry Green; sisters, Joy (James) Eichelberger of Grand Blanc, MI, Keasha, Victoria, Sade and Madison; brothers, Lamar Davis Jr., Christopher Henson, both of Flint, TK and George; mother-in-law, Mrs. Celia Williams of Davison, MI; father-in-law, Mr. Alonzo Williams of Flint; brothers-in-law, Kendrick A. Williams and Jason K. Williams, both of Flint; aunts and uncles, Terry (Bridget), Brenda, Connie, Algie, Rhonda and Geraldine (Nathaniel); nieces, nephews, cousins, many other relatives and dear friends including special friends, Lakisha Grundy-Jordan, Erica Burt, Clarissa Dover, Ernestine Papillion, Tameka Hill, Marquita Breedlove and cousin, Tawanna Houston. Sister Williams was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Martha Townsend and Inez Thomas; brother, Donovan; aunts, Bay and Margaret. The family wishes to express special thanks to Pastor Eric C. Bogan, First Lady Karleen S. Bogan and the entire Harris Memorial Church Family for all their help and support and prayers.
