McClain, Ms. Alice S. - Age 68, passed away Thursday, February 13, 2025, at her residence. Family hour 10:00 AM Monday, February 24, 2025, at Word of Life Christian Church, 460 W. Atherton Rd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor George Wilkinson, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Monday. Ms. McClain will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 10:00 AM-4:00 PM Sunday, with family present to receive friends from 10:00AM-2:00PM. Ms. Alice Stean McClain was born June 2, 1956, in Sherrill Arkansas to Lee Andrew McClain and Arlena Mae McClain. She relocated to Flint, MI in 1975, where she spent the remainder of her life. Alice worked several small jobs in her lifetime, but mainly served as a domestic engineer and taking care of her 8 children. Alice was a member of United Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor W. C. Towner. She was known to tell it like it was, but also had a heart of gold and would always give her last to take care of someone else. Alice loved music and could be found belting out her old school jams like “It’s my house and I live here”, “No pain no gain”, “On my own” and “What do the lonely do at Christmas”! When not jamming out, Alice enjoyed sitting at home, playing games on her phone. She LOVED her grandchildren and even became “Nana” to their friends. Alice recently rekindled a relationship with a former partner, and has spent her last year very happily dating, going to concerts, and simply enjoying life. Ms. Alice Stean McClain leaves to cherish her memory: 5 daughters, Monica McClain, Letisha McClain, Marlo Thompson, and Amanda (Jonathan) Perry, all of Flint, MI, and Connie (Jamar) Baker of Grand Blanc, MI; 3 sons, Nathaniel McClain of Grand Rapids, MI, Mario McClain and Marvel Carter of Flint; 27 grandchildren, Shanayta McClain, Breonna McClain, Kayla McClain, Jamal McClain, Monique Cabine, Lewis Williams, Destiny Moore, Coreyonno Pullium, Hope Pullium, Marquise Conway, Marquisha Conway, Monquisha Conway, Marquavis Overton, Terrence Overton, Brian Campbell, Damian McClain, Durell Thompson, Dewon Thompson, Christian Thompson, Sharita Thompson, BreAsia Baker, William Baker, Joseph Baker, Londyn Baker, Aaliyah Aarington, Maria Carter, and Nauteeka Swift; 38 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Johnie) Hoard of Dyersburg, TN; 3 brothers, Lee Andrew McClain Jr., Tony Lee McClain, and Kenneth Wayne McClain all of Flint, MI; partner, Mr. Milton Alexander; aunt, Elvira Watts of Conway, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Alice was preceded in death by her grandson, Marion Childs; great-grandchildren, T’Asia Kinnell and Juanyey Anderson; parents, Arlena and Lee McClain; sister, Shirley McClain Arnold; brothers, Alonzo McClain, Larry McClain, and Douglas McClain; aunt, Helen Stewart; uncle, James Curry; and niece, Sabrina Arnold. The family would like to thank emergency responders, the staff of Lawrence E.
