DANIELS, Mr. Alfonzo D. - Age 51, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2017 at his residence. Family hour 12:30 PM Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Morningstar Missionary Baptist Church, 2120 Saginaw St., with funeral service commencing at 1:00 PM Pastor Keith J. Bigelow, Sr., officiating. Interment Lovedale Memorial Cemetery, G-5175 E. Bristol Rd., Burton, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 12:30 PM Wednesday. Mr. Daniels will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1:00 PM-8:00 PM Tuesday. Mr. Alfonzo D. Daniels was born August 18, 1965 in Grand Rapids, Michigan the son of George and Osie Daniels. He departed this life on July 13, 2017 at his residence in Flint, Michigan. Alfonzo “Al” attended Flint Public Schools and was a graduate of Flint Northern High School, Class of 1985. He loved cooking enchiladas and barbequing. “Al” cherished the time that was spent with his family. He had a heart of gold and would help anyone that was in need. Mr. Daniels leaves to cherish his memory: wife, “YaYa” Daniels of Flint; daughter, Michelle (Mike) Wiley; five step-children, Ashanti Leatherman, Kashaya Polk, Deshawn Ducree, Derrick Jones and Dion Polk II; grandchildren, Amri and Kyra Ducree, Jamarion Leatherman, Jaylen and Jamari Polk and Harmony Williams; mother, Osie Daniels; five sisters, Charlotte King, Victoria (Dennis) McCray, Rosette Williams, Georgia Mae Jackson and Thelma Byers; two brothers, Gabriel (Freda) Daniels and Mike McCaw; a host of nieces including, Shon, Simone, Teres, Taya (Tremayne Sr.), Le’Queta (Kevin), Veonka, Gabrielle, De’Quandra, Denise, Jurah and Aaliyah; a host of nephews including, Ezekiel Daniels and Stacey Williams; three aunts, Gloria, Betty and Pela; two uncles, Robert and Nelson; mother and father-in-law, Lavern Leatherman and Michael (Julie) Edmondson; sister-in-law, Echo (Aaron) Brown; brother-in-law, James Leatherman; a host of cousins, other relatives and friends including, Vincent Ruthford, Aaron, James, Darryl Young, Leo Fant; god-mother, Georgianna Polk; god-daughters, Aaliyah Daniels, Aryanna Williams; a host of other relatives and friends including special friend, Ike Cheatom. Mr. Daniels was preceded in death by his father, George Daniels; god-parents, Mary and Houston Morgan, Stewart and Mary McCaw, Sr.; aunts, Bertha Fant, Louise McCoy and Ann Riley; uncles, Stewart McCaw, Jr., James and Chambers McCaw; special cousin, Nelson Fant III.
