Mr. Alex Lang Jr.

LANG, Mr. Alex Jr. - Age 75, passed away Wednesday, March 1, 2017 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM Saturday, March 11, 2017 at Church of the Harvest, 2202 W. Dartmouth St, with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Bishop Neal Roberson officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:00 AM Saturday. Mr. Lang will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12:00 PM - 8:00 PM Friday. Mr. Alex Lang Jr. III was born March 8, 1941 in Gould, Arkansas, the son of the late Mr. & Mrs. Alex II and Alafair Lang. He moved to Flint, Michigan because of the rapid growth of the Auto industry. Alex eventually secured work at Grand Blanc Metal Fabricating, a division of General Motors. He retired after 45 years of service in 2006. Alex married Rose Lang in 1967. Mr. & Mrs. Lang were married for 29 years. He was affectionately known as “Kool” for his personality and well dressed attire as a young man. Alex was a devoted father, grandfather, brother and family man. He loved to fish, watch old westerns, barbecuing and spending time with his grandchildren and family. Alex attended the Church of the Harvest International where he served on the Usher Board. He was happy that he served the Lord and accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior. Mr. Alex Lang Jr. III leaves to cherish his memory: daughter, Lisa Lang; sons, Vincent E. Lang, Malcolm E. Lang and Alex Lang Jr. IV (Maine); former spouse, Rosie Lang, all of Flint, Michigan; 3 daughters, Gwen Lang-Nelson of Grand Blanc, MI, Wanda Watson-Campbell of Fenton, MI, and Christina Willis of Flint; 12 grandchildren; 5 great-grandchildren; 3 sisters, Shirley Lang of Grand Blanc, MI, Alafair Wheeler and Mildred Hartman of Milwaukee, WI; 2 brothers, Walter and Herbert Lang, both of Flint; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Lang was preceded in death by his mother and father, Alafair and Alex Lang II; sisters, Princella Davis and Francella; brothers, Cleotha Lang and Herman Lang; uncle and aunt, Eddie and Ruth Porter.
