WILLIAMS, Mrs. Alene - Age 90, passed away Thursday, June 11, 2009 at her residence. Family hour 10:30AM Friday, June 19, 2009 at Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church, 317 E. Hamilton Ave., with funeral services commencing at 11AM, Rev. James Hill officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Friday. Mrs. Williams will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 1PM-8PM Thursday. Mrs. Alene Williams was born June 1, 1919 in Stephens, Arkansas, the daughter of Jett and Alma Hunt. Alene accepted Christ at an early age in Stephens, Arkansas. Upon moving to Flint she joined Canaan Baptist Church, under the leadership of the late Rev. L.C. Robbs and then became a member of Christ Fellowship Baptist Church, where she served on the Nurses Guild until she became ill. Mrs. Williams was an excellent cook and enjoyed feeding family and friends. She enjoyed talking on the phone to her family and friends, and also sending beautiful cards. Alene has lived in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Elyria, Ohio and made Flint her permanent home with her late husband, Henry Williams in 1954. She was employed by Betty Ann’s Kitchen, KATV-Cook 30 Minute Program and Duck Inn all in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, Hurley Medical Center, Genesee Bank (Chase)-Flint. She leaves to cherish her memory: devoted daughters, Ada Jean Todd of Chicago, IL and Mary (Todd) Brady; granddaughters, Debra and Tracie Brady, all of Flint; great-grandchildren, DeJa Morris of Houston, TX, Darrius, Deonyus and Skyler Brady, all of Flint; sister, Thelma Hope of Muskegon, MI; brother, Roy (Dorothy) Hunt of Los Angeles, CA; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends including special friends, Sallie Branch, Mattie Coleman, Ada Bishop, Dea. Rufus and Frances Duncan, Madie Thompson, Jannie Patterson, Milton and Yvonne Tucker, Irena Burns and Ann Holland. Mrs. Williams was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Williams; son, Freeman Todd; parents; grandparents; 2 sisters, Marie Jones and Ruth Brown; 3 brothers, Freeman, Fred and Booker Hunt; son-in-law, James Brady. The family would like to express special thanks to Avalon Hospice, Christ Fellowship Missionary Baptist Church family, Sallie Branch, Terry McClain, Tarasa Snowden, Jake Kemp, neighbors and staff of Sunridge Apartments.
