FLOWERS, Mr. Albert "Main"- Age 71, passed away, Thursday, September 20, 2012 at his residence. Family hour 10:00 a.m. Saturday, September 29, 2012 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Bishop M.C. Akins officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the funeral home 10:00 a.m. Saturday. Mr. Flowers will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 10-8 Friday. Mr. Albert “Main” Flowers was born August 8, 1941 in Bolton, Mississippi, the son of Percy Sr. and Cornelius Flowers. He attended Bolton Public Schools in Bolton, Mississippi. Albert was baptized in Bolton at an early age. "Main" moved to Flint, Michigan in 1964, and then moved to Pontiac, Michigan that same year, where he worked as a Landscaper. Albert relocated back to Flint and worked at General Motors, where he retired after 30 years of service. He loved watching westerns and playing cards. Mr. Albert “Main” Flowers leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Helen Flowers; 7 daughters, Georgia (Dwayne) Sanders of Chicago, IL, Patricia (Otis) Harvey, Emeline Williams, Ola Griffin, all of Bolton, MS, Veronica (Robert) Flowers of Flint, Kawana (Michael) Berry of Detroit, MI and Shameka Tucker of Memphis, TN; 4 sons, Lynn Albert (Janie) Atikinson of Vicksburg, MS, Ben Albert Flowers of Bolton, MS, Albert (Tera) Calhoun and Calvin (Wendy) Flowers, all of Flint; his mother, Cornelius Flowers; sister, Bettie Kyles, both of Bolton, MS; goddaughter, Joyce Carr; special daughter, Terra Smith, both of Flint; godson, Diamond Williams of Detroit, MI; 39 grandchildren; a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Mr. Flowers was preceded in death by his father, Percy Flowers, Sr.; grandson, Derek Jones; 2 brothers, Thomas C. Flowers and Percy Flowers, Jr.; sister, Annie Mae Horton; aunt, Mary “Aunt Sam” Kyles; mother and father-in-law, Emma and Jessie T. Calhoun.
