Mr. Albert Deloney Sr.

DELONEY, Mr. Albert Sr. - Age 85, passed away Friday, September 9, 2022 in Atlanta, GA. Family hour 1:30 PM Saturday, October 1, 2022 from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with a memorial service commencing at 2:00 PM. Eld. Clarence Harris, officiating. Friends and family will assemble at the chapel Saturday, October 1, 2022 at 1:30 PM. Albert Deloney Sr. was born on July 10, 1937 in Nashville, Arkansas to Ike and Lanie (Maxwell) Deloney. Albert graduated Valedictorian from Childress High School in Nashville, Arkansas. After high school he moved to Flint, Michigan and graduated from Flint Junior College with an Associate Degree. Albert started working at Chevrolet Metal Fabricating, a division of General Motors Corporation in 1957 and soon became a Skilled Trades Tool and Die Maker. He went on to be promoted to Supervision until he retired after 30 plus years of service. At which time, he became a Licensed Electrician. Albert met Kay Poole and they were married in April of 1958. To this union, three beautiful children, whom he loved dearly, were born Ernell, Brenda, and Albert Jr. He was a devoted and loving father. Albert was a teacher by nature, for a period of time, he taught Small Engine Repair at Mott Adult High School. This was one of the many examples of Albert passing along his knowledge to others. During his time as an electrician/contractor, he could be found providing various services across the City of Flint and surrounding areas, some of which only required a smile and a thank you for his time. His good nature and patience endeared him to everyone he encountered. He enjoyed bowling, playing cards and dominoes, gardening, and traveling at any given moment. Albert attended St James Church Of God In Christ and Holy Temple Church Of God In Christ where he served as a member of the Deacon Board. Brother Deloney later became a member of New Beginnings Ministries until his relocation. Albert Deloney Sr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Ernell Deloney of Flint and Brenda Shipman of Roswell, GA; son, Albert (Toya) Deloney Jr. of Tolleson, AZ; grandchildren, Kavonte Deloney, Kennis Bonds, Delane (Chanell Milton) Beavers, Tre’Ron Griffin, Shawn Johnson and Gyasi Wright; great-grandchildren, Cambree Beavers, DeVonnie Beavers, and Kaitlyn Smith; sister, Stella Baker of Kalamazoo, MI; cousins, James Dean Deloney, Loretta (James) Cousar; sisters-in-law, Elizabeth and Emma Deloney; special son, Curtis Orr; a host of other relatives and friends. Albert was preceded in death by his parents, Ike and Lanie Deloney; sisters, Arcenia, Lucy, Jewell, Onella, and Ruth; brothers, Ruby, Robert, Odell Sr., Rufus Sr., and Ike Jr.; nephew, Odell Jr.; former wife, Kay Deloney; special friend, Ramona Clark.
