Adella Crump

CRUMP, Mrs. Adella Blanchard - Age 89, went home to be with the Lord, on Saturday, June 27, 2009, after leaving this earthly life at the Grand Blanc Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Funeral and burial services were held Friday, July 3, 2009 in Aberdeen, Ms. Services were officiated by Pastor Juanita Crump of Five Fold Ministry Christian Center. Mrs. Adella Blanchard Crump was born April 18, 1920 in Egypt, Mississippi to the late Willie and Irene Walker Blanchard. She accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. Adella was a member of St. Peter United Methodist Church in Aberdeen and served faithfully on the Senior Usher Board for many years. She worked as a dietician at Shivers Jr. and Senior High School for over 25 years and managed all of the school cafeteria activities. Adella was a tireless worker who was very well organized and carefully planned out everything she did. She was active in the community and diligently worked the polls during voter elections. Adella was an extraordinary cook who never failed to provide her husband and children with three full course meals on a daily basis. She enjoyed gardening and grew a big vegetable garden every year and shared with her family and others the fruits of her harvest. Adella was an incredible woman who took care of her sick loved ones, including her father and mother, her husband and mother-in-law during their illnesses. She leaves to cherish her memories: 6 devoted children, Robert Willie Crump of Lebanon, IL, Adolphus Crump, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA, Irene (Fred) Jackson of Chatham, LA., Maurice (Janice) Crump of Alexandria, VA., Herbert (Juanita) Crump and Curtis (Joyce) Crump, both of Grand Blanc, MI; 21 grand children; 36 great grandchildren; 9 great-great grandchildren; sister, Sarah Leigh of Valencia CA; special nieces, Carolyn Sanders and Sylvia Ann Payne; special sister-in-law, Mary B. Minnis, all of Aberdeen, MS; a host of other relatives and friends. Mrs. Crump was preceded in death by her husband, Adolphus Crump, Sr; father and mother, 3 sisters and 1 brother. The family would like to express special thanks to Carolyn Sanders and Dr. Norris Crump, Dr. Suresh Gupta and the staff at Grand Blanc Rehab Nursing Center, the staff at Genesys Health Park, Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home and Belle Memorial Funeral Home in Aberdeen, Ms.
