Deacon Aaron White Jr.

WHITE, Deacon Aaron Jr. - Age 77, passed away Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at his residence. Family hour 10:30AM Friday, November 30, 2018 from Antioch Baptist Church, 1083 E. Stewart Ave., with funeral service commencing at 11AM. Pastor Daniel Moore, officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the church 10:30AM Friday. Deacon White will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed 1PM-5PM with family present to receive friends. Deacon Aaron White Jr. was born July 18, 1941 in LaGrange, Georgia, the son of Aaron and Laura White. Deacon White earned his wings on November 21, 2018. He began his walk with Christ at a very early age at Springfield Baptist Church in LaGrange, GA where sang in the Choir and preached his first sermon at 12 years old. Deacon White would go on to sing with various gospel groups throughout the South including, The Junior Harminizers and The Golden Voices. He moved to Flint, Michigan in 1961 and joined Mt. Hermon Missionary Baptist Church where he was President of the Mass Choir, Treasurer and a Deacon. Deacon White also founded and sang with the Guiding Light Singers and The New Testament of Flint. He would later go on to join Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church where he was a faithful member and became the Chairman of the Deacon Board, a position that he was honored to hold. Deacon White was employed by General Motors Corporation from 1963-2006. He became a Mason in 1972 under Rose of Sharon Lodge and would later move up to a Shriner. Deacon White loved spending time with family, fishing, shopping and cooking. Deacon Aaron White Jr. leaves to cherish his memory: daughters, Muriel (Kirk-Tony) Jackson, Aaron (Richard) Cooper, Venessa Fields, Jenifer Luna, all of Michigan and Shawn Gray of Texas; 3 sons, Michael, Calvin (Cashawna) White, all of Georgia and Gabrielle White of Michigan; 10 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; mother, Laura White; 4 sisters, Emma (Frank) Bryant, Stella Harper, Fannie Snell, all of Michigan and Carolyn Deloach of Georgia; 2 brothers, Robert (Peggy) White and Curtis (Cynthia) White; 3 god-children, Priscilla, Jacqueline and Reggie Johnson, all of Michigan; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends including special friends, Toni C. White and Patricia Loper. Deacon White was preceded in death by his 3 sons, Rodney White, Cornelious Curtis White and John Humphrey; grandson, Derrick Houston aka “Shouting John”; father, Deacon Aaron White Sr.; grandparents, Morgan & Stella White, Sanford & Fannie Carter. The family would like to express special thanks to Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church family, Antioch Missionary Baptist Church family and Dr. Alexander Rodriquez.
