GREEN, Ms. Sandra Denise - age 60, passed away Sunday, September 8, 2024, at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 1:30 PM Thursday, September 19, 2024, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with Memorial service commencing at 2:00 PM. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Rev. Patrick Sanders, officiating. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 1:30 PM Thursday. Ms. Green will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home. There will be no public viewing. Sandra Denise Green was born on February 8, 1964, she was the tenth child born to the late Mr. Leddrew Green Sr. and the late Mrs. Bernice (Merchant) Green. She departed this earthly plain on September 8, 2024. Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Sandra later moved to Mt. Morris, Michigan during her teenage years and ultimately remained a resident of Flint, Michigan. Sandra accepted Christ at an early age and was baptized at Berta Chapel Church in Jackson, MS. She was deeply spiritual, devoted to her faith and carried that spiritual essence into her daily life. Sandra attended Jackson Public Schools before moving to Michigan in 1976, where she continued her education at Beecher Public Schools in Mt. Morris, MI. Sandra graduated from Flint Beecher High School in 1982 and was a member of the National Honor Society. She also attended DeVry University in Atlanta, GA where she furthered her education. Sandra held several roles throughout her working life, including positions at Genesee County Parks at For-Mar Nature Preserve & Arboretum and at Crossroads Village, as a crew member for McDonald’s, and for the last 30 years working at Meijer’s, where she was highly respected and loved by many for her outstanding customer service. Sandra had a warm and vibrant spirit, always sharing her radiant smile that could light up any room. She found great joy in life with her family and her close circle of friends. She was deeply spiritual, loyal, and a constant source of support to those who knew her. Her granddaughter, Z’Yearah Denise Green was her pride and joy, she adored her deeply. Sandra often spoke of the boundless love she had for Z’Yearah, who brought her endless happiness. Sandra Denise Green leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Shalandra J’anee Green; her treasured granddaughter, Z’Yearah Denise Green. She also leaves behind her life partner of over 30 years, David Vine; brothers, John (Gloria) Green, Jonas Green and Charles Green, all of Jackson, MS; her sisters, Gloria Collier of Jackson, MS and Georgia Green of Flint; Sandra also leaves behind her special niece, Regina (Joseph) Childress of Grand Blanc, MI; her special nephews, Marcus Duwan Green of Flint and Darrell Stewart of Jackson, MS; great-nephew, Diondrey (Tyra) Green of Flint; Sandra will be deeply missed by her close friends, Mrs. Lenise Smith, Ms. Marie Courter, Mr. Bos and Mrs. Evelyn Hughes. She also leaves to cherish her memory a host of other family members, friends and co-workers. Sandra was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Leddrew Green Jr., Joe Nathan Green and Michael Jerome Green; and her sister, Emma Green.
