JOSEPH, Ms. Ramona Y. - Age 58, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2023, at Harper Hospital Detroit, MI. Family hour 10:00 AM Thursday, December 7, 2023, at Cathedral of Faith Church of God In Christ ,6031 Dupont St., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Bishop Christopher Martin, officiating. Interment River Rest Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10:00 AM Thursday. Ms. Joseph will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd. and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Wednesday. Ms. Ramona Yvonne Joseph was born September 9, 1965 in Flint, Michigan, the daughter of Raymond and Sarah Joseph. After moving to Rome, Georgia in 1966, her family returned to Flint in 1972. She attended Flint Community Schools and graduated from Flint Northwestern High School. During her teenage years she met Gary Pennyman whom she would later have her only child, daughter Shemia Constant. Ramona was a very devoted mother and was very close with her daughter, newly son-in-love, Mark Anthony and grandchild, Mark Anthony Jr. Ms. Ramona worked as a Supervisor Security Officer for many years as well as a Machine Operator. She was presented the opportunity to return to school to become a Medical Assistant, which she completed in 2015. Ramona joined Community Podiatry Group of Flint where she made a big impact on her coworkers and patients. She remained there until she relocated to Raleigh, NC in 2019 to be with her daughter. There she joined Raleigh Foot & Ankle where she made just as big of an impact. At a young age, Ramona devoted her life to the Lord, getting baptized at the age of 15 years under the leadership of Elder King David Haralson of Gethsemane Church Of God In Christ of Flint. Her Christian journey led her to unite with Cathedral of Faith Ministries Church Of God In Christ where she was a faithful dedicated member under the leadership of Bishop Christopher Martin. She received her certificate of license to become a Deaconess Missionary in 2018. After relocating to Raleigh, NC she joined World Overcomers Christian Church where she was a member of the Medical Team & Projects of Hope Team. Ms. Ramona was a very loving woman who truly had the faith the size of a mustard seed. Her faith, positivity and kind spirit led many to come to her for sound and loving advice, often being called a favorite aunt, a dear friend and second mom to many. She loved her family and especially the younger generation who she made sure to spend time with them and love on them in only the way she could. Ramona enjoyed playing card games, Crossword Puzzles, board games and her favorite Scrabble. She loved having game night with her daughter and son, beating them often. She also loved her Sunflower seeds and lemons. Ms. Ramona Joseph leaves to cherish her memory: daughter, Shemia (Mark Anthony) Constant; grandson, Mark Anthony Constant Jr., all of Raleigh, NC; sister, Marie (Warren) Smith; 3 brothers, Anthony Joseph, Raymond Joseph, all of Flint and Gary Joseph of Burton, MI; sisters-in-love, Jeanette Joseph of Wake Forest, NC, Vergenia Pennyman of Detroit, MI, Monica Fransioli and Laverne Harleston; god-daughter, Kenechia (Mike) Bray, all of Flint; god-son, Michael Damir Lewis of Atlanta, GA; special nieces & nephews, Fredricka Joseph, Kanina Joseph, Keisha Pruitt, Ebony Metcalf, Meliah Hutson, Alicia Joseph, Artisha Walton, Patricia Folsom, Jameelah Folsom, Denise Kemp, Bethany Walton, Marion Joseph, Merquisha Reece, Anthony Johnson, JaQuarious Beason, Anthony Joseph Jr., Rhaheem Joseph, Samuel Hutson III, Delbert Reece Jr.; other dear relatives, Gary Pennyman, Asiah Pennyman, Ashley Pennyman, Marie Constant; special friends, Cheryl Fields, Derrick & Karen Moore, Jessica Richardson, Tammie Wells, Lavern Bridges and Terry Blake; a host of many great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, other dear relatives and countless friends.
