WHITFIELD, Mr. Edward - Age 46, passed away Sunday, August 29, 2021 at McLaren-Flint. Family hour 10:00 AM. Thursday, September 9, 2021, from the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., with funeral service commencing at 11:00 AM, Pastor Allen C. Overton Sr., officiating. Interment Sunset Hills Cemetery, G-4413 Flushing Rd. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Funeral Home 10:00 AM Thursday. Mr. Whitfield will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, and may be viewed from 12:00 PM-6:00 PM Wednesday. Mr. Edward Washington Whitfield “Dubb Deezy” was born March 28, 1975 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, the son of Earlee Jackson and James E. Whitfield Sr. Dubb obtained his high school diploma from Jack Robey in Pine Bluff, AR. He was a resident of Flint, Michigan and was employed as a Production Worker at local factories in the Flint Area throughout the years. Dubb was a family man, he loved laughing and spending time with his family and friends. He always gave out good advice and a helping hand. Dubb was always dependable. He was a loving and caring son. Dubb enjoyed spending quality time and caring for his mom as needed. Dubb loved to cook. He was a leader. And when he was not with his family or friends, Dubb enjoyed making Rap Music with Heavywate Records. Mr. Edward Washington Whitfield “Dubb Deezy” leaves to cherish his memory: mother, Ms. Earlee Jackson; son, Kemeo Idris Brown; grandson, Kiaro Demetrius Lee Brown; 2 sisters, Rose (Harry) Ford and Jacqueline Whitfield; 4 brothers, Kelly (Autumn) Jolly, Brian (Tyesha) Jolly all of Flint, James (Gwen) Whitfield Jr. of Arkansas and Jonah (Farrah) Whitfield of Flint; 15 nieces; 10 nephews; 5 aunts, Earline Jackson, Rosie Moore, both of Flint, Pearl Mae Jackson of New York, Debra Jackson and Carolyn Jackson, both of Flint; uncle, Washington (Marguerite) Jackson; a host of cousins including special cousins, Earlene (Johnny) Paylor, Shalonda Jackson and Audrea Jackson; a host of other relatives and friends. Mr. Whitfield was preceded in death by his son, Keont’e Terry Whitfield; father, James E. Whitfield; sister, Sherry Lynn Jolly; brothers, LeAndrew Whitfield and Gregory Jackson; niece, Simone Shantel Aldridge; and nephew, DaQuarius Lonney Thomas. The family would like to express special thanks to Emmet Beard, David Alexander, Heavywate Records and nurse, Randy at McLaren-Flint.
