Mr. Bobby Carl Toliver Sr.

TOLIVER, Mr. Bobby C. Sr. "Bobby T" - Age 57, passed away Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at his residence. Family hour 10 a.m. Thursday, January 22, 2015 at Our Savior Lutheran Church, 6901 N. Saginaw Street, with funeral service commencing at 11 a.m. Pastor Randy Shultz officiating. Interment Flint Memorial Park Cemetery, G-9506 N. Dort Hwy., Mt. Morris, MI. Friends and pallbearers will assemble at the Church 10 a.m. Thursday, Mr. Toliver will lie in state in the Chapel of Lawrence E. Moon Funeral Home, 906 W. Flint Park Blvd., and may be viewed from 12 noon - 8 p.m. Wednesday. Mr. Bobby Carl Toliver, Sr. was joyfully welcomed into this world on August 24, 1957 in Detroit, Michigan, the son of Frank and Gussie Mae Toliver, whom both preceded him in death. He was the eldest of five children. Bobby accepted Christ at the early age of six. He received his education within the Detroit Public School System and graduated from Chadsey High School, “Class of 1975", were he played football as a Linebacker. He began to pursue his college degree at Northwood College and Marygrove College, where he majored in Accounting and Computer Science. For over 25 years Bobby was employed as a Blanker for General Motors. After being relocated to Flint to continue his services with GM, he met his loving wife and best friend of 18 years, Patricia. As many called him “Bobby T”, he was known for dressing dapper in his suits and hats. He enjoyed football, dancing and listening to Gospel and the Blues. Bobby also enjoyed spending time with his wife, children and grandchildren. For the past two years, he was studying to become a Lay Minister at Our Savior Lutheran Church, but most of all; he loved the Lord Jesus Christ. Left to carry on his Legacy is his wife of 18 years, Patricia Kay Toliver; 4 children, LaTonya Toliver of Detroit, MI, Bobby Jr. (Tamikka) Toliver of Norfolk, VA, Felecia Toliver and Kiara Toliver (Jerome) Beard; former wife, Francheska Jackson, all of Detroit, MI; 10 grandchildren, Ashley, DeZinae, Jabari, Jajuan, Kaila, Indya, Jacob, Ka’Veon, Andrea and Ka’Tajah; 2 sisters, Clarissa and Phyllis Toliver, both of Detroit, MI; 9 sisters-in-law, Thelma Price, Juanita Price, Loretta Price, Rita (Perry) Smith, Carolyn Toliver, all of Detroit, MI, Teresa (Junior) White, Shirley Esset, Jacqueline Beene and Vernetta Beene; brothers-in-law, Eugene (Audrica) Beene, Allan (Yolanda) Beene, all of Ohio and Robert Hardaway of Detroit, MI; a host of aunts; uncles, nieces; nephews; cousins; other relatives and special friends including: special friends, Joe Price, Costello Fleming and god-children, Jaire, Asia and Jasmine. Mr. Toliver was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Temeca Toliver-Hardaway; brother, Christopher Toliver; mother & father-in-law, Rosetta and Theodore Beene; brother-in-law, Lawrence Price and best friend, Cecil Foss.
